The landscape is very beautyful and most impressive. The subtropical climate created a most diverse Flora and Fauna. The low population density of only 5 persons per square kilometer gurantees an ecological balance, now and in the future. The typical scenery is made up of magnificent rivers and lakes with large pampas and big forests inbetween.

MAGDALENA has made considerable progress in the last few years and has developed into a managed small city with a new airport building and an impressiv regional hospital which will serve the entire Province of Itenez. At the same time roads have been improved. Despite these most favorable developments this small capital has retained its charm and rural character and can and will preserve its richness in flora and fauna.
